Suggested Supply List for Waterfowl Painting

Winsor & Newton Watercolor Paints, or another professional‑grade watercolor brand of your choice.
Ultramarine Blue – primary blue for shadows, water modeling, and reflected shapes
Cobalt Blue – mid‑value blue for clean, even washes
Winsor Blue (Green Shade) – deep water passages and cool reflected tones
Burnt Sienna – neutralizes blues to create soft grays in the swans and water
Winsor Yellow – base for mixing greens and adding warm light
Yellow Ochre – muted warm tones for beaks, reflected light, and softened greens
Winsor Red – small accents for beaks and warm reflected notes

Recommended Brushes (Princeton Aqua Elite)
#8 Round – main brush for swan forms, water passages, and foliage
#6 Round – refinement of heads, beaks, feather edges, and ripples
#8 Long Round – long, continuous strokes for neck curves and foliage lines
3/4" Flat – broad graded washes for the water and background transitions

Watercolor Paper
One block of 140 lb Arches Cold Press, 8" × 10" or larger  
(300 lb Arches is also fine if preferred)

Or: individual sheet of Arches Cold Press, cut to size and taped to a mounting board for stability
